Review with MD: Both of your should see a doctor with the copies of test results to resolve the matter.  Any lab test has false positive and false negative results.  You did not mention what std did you test positive for and it is impractical to comment further without seeing the test results.

Lots of reasons: Depending on the specific STD, the first person tested might have a false positive, or the second a false negative result. Maybe partner not infected yet, if other partners involved. Most STDs are cured over time by the immune system, so the partner might have self cured. Or took an antibiotic, either for the STD or something else. Both partners should be treated, including the one with neg test.

There : There are several different possibilities of how that can happen.  Some times people carry disease, but for some reason it hasn't spread yet to their partner, although it usually eventually will.  Also, laboratory swabs and tests are not always perfect, and can be wrong.  Both you and your boyfriend should tell your doctor that your partner has these infections, so that you are treated appropriately, as both of these infections can cause long term complications.

: Probably yes, depending partly on what "all" STD" means. Some tests can give misleading results (e.g. HSV) and recognizing that reliable tests don't exist for some infections (HPV). So not necessarily zero risk, but most likely you're as safe as possible, and completely safe for the more dangerous infections.

False test? Recheck: HSV usually is not part of routine STD testing, so your partner might have been infected 12 years ago. Or his current test is false; the HSV2 blood tests are often mistaken, especially if only weakly positive. Your BF should see an STD or infectious diseases expert for further evaluation and perhaps repeat testing. Good luck!

Let me explain: Standard antibody HIV testing can have two stages. The most commonly used initial screening test is either an enzyme immune assay (eia) or the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (elisa). If the eia/elisa test is negative, no additional testing is done. If the eia/elisa screening test is positive, that result must be confirmed with a more specific test called "western blot.".

Confusing post: Candida albicans is common yeast that is present on/in all human systems. Gram positive/negative is a contradiction of terms. If negative for gram positive germs it is a normal finding. It would be good to have a better explanation. The ordering provider should provide this analysis.

: Bacteria vaginosis BV does increase risk of acquisition of STD only if your partner has STD that could be transmitted. If your partner did not have STD when you had intercourse then you are unlikely to get another STD.

can i trust my oraquick results 8 months after high risk exposure? had chlamydia during the risk, and then was treated shortly after, and negative for other stds. ever since i was treated i have been clean and with one partner.

HIV test: The Oraquick oral fluids test is very good but not perfect; 3 months or more after exposure, it detects 95-98% of HIV infections. Almost certainly you do not have HIV, but for a 100% conclusive result, have a lab based blood test, either 3rd or 4th generation. (Most labs do 4th gen tests routinely). Also have repeat chlamydia/gonorrhea testing and syphilis blood test if these not yet done.
