lh surge positive on day 15th & on day 16 follicle is 19x14.3mm , when do i ovulate? is that possible to have lh surge but no ovulation ? please help

OPKs: Ovulation predictions kits just do that "predict".  You have an appropriate sized follicle.  Day 16 based on a positive kit would be the most likely day.  Yes it is possible to surge, but not ovulate.  Maybe an US 2-3 days after positive surge may be helpful to see if follicle collapsing or free fluid consistent with ovulation

hello doc!i took clomid (clomiphene) 2-6.today cd15, still no lh surge.i am seeing only a faint line.no ovulation?vry frustrated.what should i do now?

A little more time: Most women will have an lh surge by now, but sometimes it takes a little longer. If nothing happens within the next week, you should discuss increasing the dose with your doctor. Sometimes 1 pill a day is not enough.

14, 21, 23 and 17 are my last 4 cycle days. how normal is this? and constant positive op k's but no ovulation. what could it be? i'm 128 lbs and 5'6

Abnormal: So your periods are abnormal and the kits are always wrong. None of the kits will work for you since your lh hormone is naturally high. So get rid of the kits. You will need to have an evaluation to see why you are not ovulating and then fix the problem or take medicine to get you to ovulate.

Not accurate: Odk are a good way to predict ovulation.  Once the kit is positive, ovulation or the release of the egg occurs 26-40 hours later.  Although generally accurate, the odk can sometimes have a false negative- you ovulated but the kit does not show it.  Sometimes using another kit works or there is always the possibility that you are not ovulating.  3% of women have regular cycles but do not ovulate.

Not always accurate: Odks are a convenient way to help time ovulation and the timing of intercourse, they are not always accurate. They can occasionally be positive but other more accurate signs of ovulation, like ultrasound, Progesterone levels and endometrial biopsy indicate that you did not ovulate. Mostly, however, when positive, odks indicate ovulation. May want to try a different odk or other tests for ovulation.

4 days of positive opk's from saturday. got ovulation pain sat sun mon. no ovulation pattern on bbt chart. no pcos. could i o without a temp rise. ?

Yes, I suggest: not doing both BBT and OPK in the same cycles. they usually contradict each other, and the OPK always beats the BBT. I also recommend strongly with the OPK you "try" (have sex) when it first turns positive; there's no good reason to keep testing afterwards to see how many days are positive. PCOS: It is true that you need a proper balance of estrogen and Progesterone to achieve normal breast development in a women. However, there are other factors affectiing the breasts including the hormones prolactin and growth hormone. It is true that there is increased lh in pcos but this usually increases testosterone (one of the hallmarks of pcos).

Package insert: Each brand of ovulation tests comes with a package insert. Inside the insert will be an illustration of how that brand demonstrates a positive and a negative test. Compare your test  to the images contained to help determine the result.

Not necessarily: Oftentimes women will produce copious thin mucus for a few days at midcycle. This is caused by the rise in estrogen levels just before ovulation. However, not all women with this mucus have ovulated and not all  poor mucus is caused by ovulation problems.

18th day of menst cycle. no ovulation yet. i have a 35 day kind of cycle usually. is this normal? i m trying to get preg.

Irregular cycles: Irregular periods are one of the most common problems obgyns treat. If this is one time problem it usually resolves on its own. If this is a recurring problem you should be evaluated. Infections ;  hormonal changes can cause spotting. If there is a concern for pregnancy then do  a home pregnancy test. You will need ovulation testing by a doctor.  Schedule a visit.
