i may have poor circulation but i notice that my arms often fall 'asleep' while i'm sleeping.  is there a way to minimize this? it's annoying to keep waking up from pin-needle like arms and move to different positions.

Sounds more: like a nerve compression, rather than poor circulation.   Have your doctor check out your neck and other places where nerves to the arm could become compressed.

Lots of things: Lots of things can cause symptoms such as this - is it both arms ? What makes it happen or is it all the time?

Sleep on your back: Do not sleep on the affected arm. Try to sleep on your back to avoid pressure on arm. Right thing to do is to see a vascular surgeon.

No: First an evauation to confirm a circulation problem needs to be done. A nerve that is being pinched or carpal tunnel syndrome can have similar symptoms. Once a DX is made a targeted therapy can be implemented.

Poor circulation: Poor circulation may be due to poor health, cholesterol, diabetes, alcohol, or other medical condition that may affect the vessels that carry blood to the extremities.  Genetics play some role.

Yes to see your PCP: But most likely you are just a normal person, who has recently started to run/exercise. The symptoms you mentioned are normal in that scenario. Your circulation is normal. As you continue and develop stamina, all these symptoms would reduce considerably. Though do check with your pcp to ensure you are healthy and get some baseline labs.

: At "47" it is unlikely that circulatory problems would cause the symptoms described. If you have not been tested for COVID-19, you may have contracted it with relatively mild symptoms. COVID-19 can include muscle aches in extremities, lack of energy and upper respiratory symptoms.  Even if fully vaccinated, the variant "Delta" can reinfect individuals.

Yes....: If you are not taking Theophylline pill, you can take propranolol. But check with your doc....he knows you better.
