Local bleeding.: That would usually indicate a bleeding source right at the exit, such as a hemorrhoid or anal fissure.  Fissures usually cause tremendous pains as the stool is passing through.

I would try to reach: Your GI doctor first and if unable then yes go to er. You don't say how long you have been bleeding but you probably shouldn't delay being seen and evaluated.

Rectal bleeding.: Although a hemoglobin of 13 is only minimally low, it is never normal to have blood in the stool. It is imperative to have an evaluation to determine why you are having G.I. bleeding. Your gastroenterologist should schedule tests to determine the cause of the bleeding. Do not delay in getting this evaluated. It can be life-saving. Good luck.

i had diarrhea last night that progressed to it having pebble like poop and diarrhea. then i had small amounts of blood in the feces and sometimes i would just poop mucuous with blood . it has subsided but should i get a colonoscopy or something?

: If you're eating out before that event, chance is you have an infectious bowel disease which manifests with diarrhea, mucous and bloody stool. Problem is usually limited without treatment but at times it may be treated with antibiotic(s), less likely if you live in the USA. I think colonoscopy is NOT indicated for these symptoms. However, you should see your doctor if symptoms persist. Take care.

IBD: As a 20 yo, my first concern would be inflammatory bowel disease, especially ulcerative colitis.  It's unlikely that this is a malignant condition, but you really need to be seen soon for GI evaluation.  Don't delay, and good luck.

Hemorrhoids: You are likely having hemorrhoids if you are having bright red blood with stooling. Try over the counter medications like anusol or preparation h. If symptoms don't improve, you should see your doctor.

Blood not normal: Bloody stools are not normal and should be evaluated by your doctor.  Bright green poop may be caused by infection, excessive bilirubin, diet, or dyes in food.  My son worried me when he had the most beautiful sea-foam green poop as a baby.  We found out it was from his cousin's popcorn in the school colors-- blue and yellow.  Regardless, you should see your doctor for an evaluation of the blood.

Get it checked: Blood in your stools is a reason for a prompt evaluation.  If you are dizzy or lightheaded, you should have a friend drive you to the emergency room.  If you are bleeding continuously, call an ambulance.  Otherwise, go to your primary care doctor and have her evaluate you.  Tell the office staff it is for rectal bleeding, and you'll get in.

See your doc.: This can't be good. Should see your doc to consider doing some studies and think about looking up your backside to make sure that you don't have significant disease.
