If the infection is compromising the pregnancy (i.e. weight loss, sleeplessness) then treatment can be considered, but should be withheld until the 3rd trimester when risk to fetus is lower. Really ??: There are many potential causes for anal itching other than pinworms. They are relatively common in toddlers but not so in adults. If you have been self treating based on the assumption you have them I would discuss this with your doc. Pinworms do not affect pregnancy but some of the meds used for them may.

Doubt it: I doubt that any pinworm medication would interfere with your chance of becoming pregnant.

Nope, you're good: Pinworm infections are usually treated with a one time dose of Vermox (mebendazole) 100 mg.  It's a category c medicine and if used short term, it can be used safely in pregnancy.  Usually we treat the whole family, chew it before you swallow it, and it can be repeated in 2 weeks if needed.  Most patients do great with just one dose.  It should not affect your baby even if retreatment is done.
