Scared ?: These are common human only parasites that are just a nusicence not a threat. There only downside is the itchy skin rash they cause on the bottom that causes aggravation. They are easily treated.

Yes: Perianal itching is the most common presenting symptom of pinworm infestation &amp; scratching the area can cause redness &amp; irritation. The pinworm is a white, threadlike worm that migrates from the lower bowel where it lives to the perianal area to deposit eggs. Sometimes adult worms may be seen near the anus, particularly in the morning. If you're worried, go see a doc, there are tests &amp; treatment.

my 7 year old has had a red anal rash for 2 months now.  dr. has treated for streph, yeast infection, and now testing for pinworm.  what is going on?

Maybe...: May be a form of psoriasis which may respond to a cortisone type cream. Also rare sign of colitis.
Ask your pediatrician.

How: Many times were you treated for. We’re close house contact also treated. Pinworm is very infectious . Reinfection is common if entire house hold is not treated. Treatment is usually effective but does not kill the eggs.  So treatment should be repeated in 2 weeks to kill the hatched eggs. Hand washing and using hot water to launder clothes and underwear

They have also shown that the overabundance of cathelicidin is the result of an excess of an enzyme in the facial skin.
