i have pseudomonas in my throat as per culture.could my persistent throat pain is due to this? dr said no need to take antib but im not convinced???

Pseudomonas: This often water associated bacillus may be present in the oral cavity as a saprophyte and is rarely the cause of infection in this area.  Strongly agree with your doctor that antibiotics are virtually never necessary with these findings.  Best wishes.

Anxiety, see a PCP: Anxiety symptoms are not a sign of illness, they are the mind's ability to produce the "flight or fight" response which gives rise to many physiological changes include chest pains, parasthesia, dry mouth, aphasia, tremor and sweating. Depending on the cause of your anxiety symptoms, your health care provider can recommend appropriate treatment and Vicodin is not one of them.

2 month persistent throat pain/swollen tonsils. doctor is prescribing bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim). already tried caphalexin 5 weeks ago. help mildly. thoughts please?

Pharyngitis/tonsilit: This is either not due to bacterial infection or, less likely, you are infected with an organism resistant to these antibiotics. Suspect you might have infectious mononucleosis or a mononucleosis-like syndrome. Best to see an ENT doctor or an infectious diseases expert. Hope this helps.

ENT consult: Sore throat often causes ear pain because of shared (cranial) nerves.  You are young and nonsmoker.  If it persists for longer than 2 weeks, then get checked out by a doctor.  They will examine your ears and do a neuro exam in addition to looking at your throat.  If the pains last over a month despite a normal exam, then get an appt with a local ENT who will do a more thorough scope exam.

You : You will have to have a complete evaluation by a primary care doctor such as an internal medicine physician or a family practitioner.  You may need a chest x-ray or other studies.  Please be seen and evaluated for this especially as it has gone on for two months.   If you had worsening pain, fever or shortness of breath then you would have to go to the er.

Throat lozenges and Tylenol (acetaminophen) can lessen pain.
