Yes: You should go to the er. I presume your regular doctor does not have office hours currently. Depending on the extent of your peritonsillar abscess, it may need incision and drainage. Intravenous hydration and antibiotics may be beneficial as well.

Not necessarily: While crohn's disease can have oral mucosal manifestations (apthous ulcers, for instance), peritonsillar abscesses are not necessarily more common in a patient with crohn's disease.

Sore throat and more: Peritonsillar abscess can cause following symptoms including sore throat, painful and difficult swallowing saliva, muffled voice, painful lumps(lymph nodes)in your neck. If you have difficulty breathing or talking,  you should seek immediate medical care at ER.

Drainage: It is most likely that there is some drainage down the back of your throat causing cough. You should see the surgeon who drained your abscess. The drainage may just be excess saliva but it could be pus.

Yes. as any surgery: Hurts to some extent, but the drainage of these abscesses is life saving, as swelling can increase rather rapidly and interfere with breathing etc..
So the hurt would be minimal under these circumstances. Also once such an abscess is drained, that itself decreases the pain of the abscess.

Most likely you'll -: Need to have it drained, which will decrease the pain and also help with its healing. 
Surgery should be done asap, as it can easily become life threatening.
See your ENT doc asap or go to an er.
