Varies: The time frame for taking an STD test varies based on the incubation period for the infection and can differ from person to person. GC/CT is 2-6 days. Syphilis is 3-6 weeks. Hep B and HSV is 4-6 weeks. HIV - RNA is 9-11days. HIV - Antibody is 1-3 months. Testing before these time frames can possibly give you a false negative.

STDs: I am not sure your question: testing for STDs can take place at any time. If you are symptomatic, the earlier you get tested the better. But certain StDs such as chlamydia often are  symptomatic so routine testing, especially for women is advised.

Hello. : Hello. I can't tell you if you are pregnant or not.  Possible symptoms of pregnancy include: nausea, vomiting, lack of a period, enlarged or swollen breasts, urinating more, insomnia, feeling tired, passing gas, abdominal enargemet and feeling more emotional to mention a few. There are some women who do not  have a great deal of enlargement over the first few months. It sounds like you have not a period for over four months.  With your lack of a period, history of unprotected sex and learning that the type of pregnancy test you may have been defective- recommend you take a pregnancy test.  If it is negative, then you could consider talking to your gynecologist for more insight as to the reason that you have not been having your period. Take care.

Yes: Testing for STDs can be done while on your period. Some are done on blood drawn from your arm and others on urine or cervical swabs but bleeding does not prevent any of the testing.The only way to know why a physician would want to just do an exam and no blood or urine tests would be to ask that physician. Yes/problems: There are STD's, chlamydia and gonorrhea to be specific that can travel up to your Fallopian tubes and invade/scar them to the point natural pregnancy is not possible. This can occur even if you have no early symptoms and how long it tales is unknown. Significant symptoms and complications of these or other STD's usually drive patients in to be seen, but may take time to emerge.

Hormonal imbalance: If you did not have sex since your last period and a correctly done pregnancy test was negative, you are not pregnant.
Menstrual irregularities are not uncommon and anovulatory cycle is a common cause. If you miss more than two periods it would be time to see your doctor. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time. You may consider implanted contraceptive or an IUD.

Exam and sonogram : If you have already been tested for infections then the next step is a full pelvic exam and a sonogram. You will need to be tested for bacterial vaginosis and yeast. You  also need to be evaluated for an ovarian cyst or in some other problem that can cause abdominal pain.

Orgasm : Orgasm both helps relieve the pain of menstrual cramps, but can also induce cramping (which lasts a short time).  Clitoral stimulation may be inducing cramps in you if it is close to your period, but usually the effect is to make the cramps less painful.  I would recommend taking Ibuprofen 600 mg about an hour before you plan to be intimate to help lessen cramping, unless you have been told by a doctor not to take Ibuprofen (issues with easy bleeding/bruising, gastric ulcer).

When symptoms occur, typical times are gonorrhea 3-5 days; chlamydia 1-2 weeks; herpes 3-10 days; syphilis 3-6 weeks; HIV 10-20 days; HPV 1-2 mo. to transmit, 6 mo. to 2 years for warts or abnormal pap smear. If at risk, get tested; don't wait for symptoms.
