when i run or stand for too long i get these cramps that feel exactly like period cramps but im not on my period or anywhere near it. is this normal?

Accepted Answer

Not normal: Curious complaint.  One hypothesis would be that some type of inflammatory fluid pools around your uterus or inside bringing on the cramps.  Fever or other symptoms.
If this persists would be worthwhile to get checked.

Possibly: Pregnancy is a posibility.  Purchase and perform a home pregnancy test.  It should turn positive by the time you're a week late.  If it's negative, repeat it in 1 week.

i'm a 24 year old female not sexually active but experiencing period like cramps but not my period the last few days 1/2 hour at a time what's wrong!?

Pelvic pain: Pelvic pain is complex as there are several organs in the pelvis. The ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus, cervix, bladder, appendix, intestines, colon and rectum can all be the source. Pelvic pain requires and examination to help organize the evaluation. Since you have a 28 day cycle we would expect your period around day 28 unless you got pregnant

Doubt it is menses: If pain or discomfort continues a sonogram. And CA125 levels maybe helpful.

Not likely: If you had protected sex it's not terribly likely; and 4 days after ovulation tells you nothing about pregnancy, it's too early. If you are late on your period of course, a pregnancy test should be done. Good wishes

Maybe: Period-like cramps are common the first few months of pregnancy. You might be pregnant. A pregnancy test will answer that question.

i had my period the beginning of january and got treated for a ruptured ovarian cyst february 17th and have still yet had my period and its the 26th. i had some mild period like cramps but they stop. me and my bf have been trying for a while ?

If pregnancy test: is negative, it sometimes takes a 4 -6 weeks for cycle to normalize after a cyst.  If cycles have been or remain irregular, this means ovulation is irregular. Testing and treatment with your doctor is advised.

hi, i belive i have missed my period by 4 days, but the last 3 days i have had period like cramps, but no period, i have had 2 negative pregnancy tests, last time tried to conceive was about a week before missed period.. please advise?p.s no spotting

With 28 day: cycles, ovulation day is usually day 14. Having intercourse on days 10, 12, and 14 seems to give better results in conceiving. If cycles are longer, ovulation day moves forward, 35 day periods, ovulation day is 21.  If cycles are longer or irregular, see your doctor for treatment.

: If you had sex since your last period, do a home pregnancy test. If the result is negative repeat the test 4-5 days later unless you get a period by then. Use first morning urine and follow the instructions carefully. 
If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time, every time. Consider implanted contraceptive, or IUD. 
Practice safe sex. 
Get HPV vaccine

Late period?: You may simply be a few days late for your period. If you don't start your period in 1 week I suggest you take a pregnancy test. If your are not pregnant please consider some form of contraception. Talk to your doctor. Also remember to use a condom to decrease your chances for a vaginal infection.
