These problems can be evaluated, diagnosed and treated by a Gyn Dr. Any surgery can throw off the menstrual cycle, especially if it involves any part of the reproductive anatomy.

PCOS ?'s: With PCOS, although ovarian cysts are part of that diagnosis, it is not the cysts which cause the PCOS, but hormonal abnormalities.  If you are not attempting pregnancy at this point, you should be on constant low dose oral bcp's, which will minimize the formation of cysts, and preserve your fertility.  Ovarian "drilling" will generally not stop PCOS.

Position during oper: While the patient is on the operating table during the surgery and under anesthesia the back can be in an awkward position and the patient comes out of surgery with back sprain and strain. Due to damaged ligaments.
