Normal variation: Your periods occur because of changes in hormones within your system. While a lot of women have a period every month around the same time, there is variation from cycle to cycle. Ie – a period may come on a few days earlier or later and maybe heavier or lighter depending on the endometrium lining. It may come continuously or with intermittent spotting. These are variation of a normal process

When it was due : You stopped it when you didn't have your shot. You had it in your system in therapeutic levels until then.

Hormonal imbalance: Menstrual irregularities are not uncommon and anovulatory cycle is a common cause. If you miss more than two periods it would be time to see your doctor. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time. You may consider implanted contraceptive or an IUD.

If you have had a 14: Day period - ; it hasn't stopped - you need to contact your ob/gyn to have this medically assessed.

Blood: There are not many conclusions that can be drawn if this was a one time thing. Either you just had an irregular menstrual cycle last month or you just had some blood left over in the vagina and intercourse allowed it to come out. If this becomes a recurring problem for you then schedule a visit to have a pelvic exam done.

Bleeding: Not all bleeding is your period, so since having unprotected sex, please start checking a pregnancy test.  Infection can also cause off and on bleeding.  Probably time for an STD check and a discussion with your physician about birth control

Menses: More than likely this represents your normal cycle.  If you have any concerns about pregnancy you can always do a test.
