Pregnant??: possibly if you are having sex -  irregular menses make unprotected sex - complicated since you generally can't rely on the "lateness" of the period.  I would wait a week and repeat the test if you still haven't gotten your period.   Do you want to be pregnant??  if not you need to use some sort of birth control   If you do - you normally ovulate on the 14 th day after you start your mense

Late Period: Of course, it is possible you are pregnant. But menstrual l irregularities such as spotting, or missed and late periods can be due to a myriad of other causes, including concomitant medications, stress, shifts in your hormonal axis, and others. You can always test yourself with a good home pregnancy kit, but you might want to consult your gynecologist if your normal cycle doesn't resume next time.

Pregnancy possible.: If you have had sex, with your period now 8 days late, you could be pregnant. The two days of spotting could be  'implantation' bleeding. I suggest doing a pregnancy test. If you are not pregnant, it could just be an aberrant or  'weird'  cycle.

Yes: You might have used a HPT that becomes positive around 25miu/ml.  Pick one that picks up positive around 15miu/ml or call your doctor and see if he/she will order a serum (blood) pregnancy test.

Do a pregnancy test: If you have been having sex without contraception and your period is late, you should do a home pregnancy test. Once your period is a week or more late, they are very accurate.  You still may very well not be pregnant.  Any bleeding at all, even if it is different in character, probably represents a period. Please pursue reliable contraception this coming month. No, not likely: Today's home pregnancy tests are very accurate and not affected by foods, herbs, common illnesses, sexually transmitted diseases, vaginal spotting, or medications. A test gives a reliable result 3 weeks after sex (or when conception might have happened) or 1 week after missing a period. If done sooner, a negative result may be due to testing too early, such as less than 2 weeks after conception.
