May help, no cure: Most fungal/yeast infections (thrush) of the penis are under the foreskin, causing balanitis (inflammation of the head of the penis). Retracting the foreskin and washing with soap and water a couple times a day often is efffective. A &quot;salt bath&quot; might help as part of such a hygiene program, but in itself won&#x27;t cure yeast. If these steps don&#x27;t clear it up, see a doctor for antifungal treatment.

Balanitis: Skin inflammation can create peeling, but the clotrimazole may not be curing the balanitis. To treat candida, I recommend topical nystatin ointment.

Go back to doctor: Without knowing why you are on a 4 wk course of antibiotics would not just stop it, but rather go back to the doctor who prescribed this and you can be treated for the yeast infection orally if the antibiotic cannot be discontinued.

No: Steroids (hydrocortisone)  is not the proper treatment for penile candidiasis. In fact, since it is an immune suppressant it will make the yeast infection much worse. Yeast cream is the proper treatment assuming the diagnosis of candidiasis is correct. Penis lesions-STDS: Thrush- refers to a yeast infection- in men also known as jock itch. If  your partner has any kind of sore on their penis, scrotum or groin, best that they be seen right away by a doctor/np/pa. Some people can have a sexually transmitted disease without a sore. Condoms and dental dams can reduce risk of getting a sexually transmitted disease. Also have yourself checked- women often have no symptoms.

Urethral discharge : Whitish urethra discharge could be a sign of sexually transmitted diseases(STD). Go to ED and have a urethral swab. You probably need empirical treatment against chlamydia and gonorrhea. Fungal infection could be the reason as well.
