No: A clumpy (cottage cheese- like), white, non- odorous discharge associated w itching, burning, swelling or redness can be due to yeast infections. White, gray or yellow w fish-like odor; clumpy white w/o an odor, clumpy green or yellow are all types of d/c which can occur with infections. If you have a change in color, texture, odor or amount of vaginal discharge ; problems such as pain, itching &gt;.

Discharge: as long as your swabs are normal and your smears are normal, it should be fine.  for further detail your gynaecologist is in the best position to advice you.

To Dr. to get checke: You need to see your dr. As you may have a failure of treatment. There are now organisms that are resistant to all but one antibiotic treatment. You also may have a yeast infection resulting from use of antibiotics but either way you need to see the dr. To be checked.

Testing: The only way to make an accurate diagnosis is through an examination and testing. If infection testing was negative then a few other possible causes are postmenopausal atrophic vaginitis and urine incontinence. Both are very common after menopause. Ask an Obgyn to assess for these possible causes.

: Normal vaginal secretions or mucus are colorless &amp;odorless which sounds like your discharge as when dry it appears like egg whites.  Associated vaginal itching would suggest a yeast infection. If you note itching, ask your pharmacist for a nonprescription antiyeast vaginal cream to try. See a gynecologist as needed.

Hormones: When a women has an irregular period and breakthrough bleeding, it's typically the result of hormonal imbalances. Sometimes it can be too much progesterone, or too much estrogen. Sometimes it can be a thyroid imbalance or extremes of weight (thin/heavy). If it bothers you, consider birth control pills to help regulate or see doctor for evaluation.

Yes: Metronidazole, medication for bacterial vaginitis, often goes into the vagina as a clear gel but may last in the vagina for days.  It may often turn white and chunky.  If this new discharge is associated with worsening of symptoms, itching or burning, follow up with doctor.
