Builds bone: Pamidronate is a synthetic form of parathyroid hormone that promotes increase in bone calcium content and decrease in the risk of fractures.

Cough is a: Not uncommon side effect of pamidronate, but is usually not severe and resolves spontaneously without permanent damage. Don't know if the exact cause is known.

Many types...: Bronchodilators such as albuterol (Ventolin) or levalbuterol (Xopenex) enlarge the diameter of the airways to help air flow and mucus come out of the lungs. Patients with cough-variant asthma, exercise-induced asthma, or regular asthma also use steroid inhalers (such as Flovent) to reduce swelling, mucus, and "sensitivity" in the airways. Singulair is an another medication that can be used.
