Buspar (buspirone): Buspar (buspirone) is very rarely associated with heart palpitations, but anxiety (for which Buspar (buspirone) is often prescribed)  more commonly is.  If using caffeine or other stimulants, please stop.  Please discuss this question with the physician who prescribed you the Buspar (buspirone) -- s/he knows you and how you were before being given this.  Psychotherapy helps anxiety also, and might be considered here.

It sounds like you: aren't sure. Buspar is a gem for a mild anxiolytic. But it tends to take away symptoms rather than causing you to feel significantly different.  Why  don't you figure out how your symptoms are before seeking further guidance about it.

Possibly: You wrote previously about having had your symptoms checked in er, and had normal exams, etc. Your symptoms are very common in anxiety, which Buspar (buspirone) can help. Buspar (buspirone) can be increased in dose, and your doctor can work with you on this.  Another essential part of treatment is psychotherapy, because this can help you learn healthy ways of dealing with painful emotion -- including anxiety.    Be well.

Can cause insomnia: Buspar - buspirone - can cause insomnia, including waking up during the night. But causing palpitations is unusual. I wonder if the palpitations are part of the anxiety that you are probably being treated with Buspar? If anxiety is not managed it may seem like Buspar is perhaps causing it?

Anxiety: Anxiety can cause many physical symptoms, including palpitations.  It sounds like the er doctors examined you, and did not find anything alarming.  Buspar (buspirone) is a medication which can help with anxiety.  You haven't shared what dose you're on, but i hope you'll tell the physician you've been seeing about this er trip.  Please maintain your Buspar (buspirone) in the meantime.  Psychotherapy can be helpful too.

i have premature atrial contractions, my cardio has said theyre benign, they cause me a lot of anxiety. my psychiatric dr just prescribed be buspar to take on top of pristiq. buspar not likely to make my palpitations worse is it? possibly help?

: It depends. If the PAC is worse due to uncontrolled anxiety, buspar may help. However, one side effect of buspar is palpitation which could be associated with ectopic beats or tachycardia. If you think your anxiety is due to PAC, I would rather choose no added medication and emphasize on cognitive behavior therapy.

treatment involvs pumping the stomach and supportive care with IV fluids, airway stabilization and ventilation if needed in severecases, maintaining BP and vital signs and fluid balance.
I only Buspar (buspirone) overdose, no fatalities have been reported with five five time the dose.
