It : It sounds like you are dealing with a vaginal yeast or bacterial infection. Since your vagina is dry and irritated the tissue is inflammed and having sex can irritate the tissue further thus causing bleeding. I recommend you visit a doctor for evaluation and treatment. If that is not an option for you, you can try an over the counter yeast infection medication like Monistat or clotrimazole. If you do that and your symptoms do not improve then you definitely need to visit a doctor.

Vaginal dryness: The level of 'dryness" of the vagina is greatly impacted by two factors.
1) if the patient is in menopause
2) psychological and social factors that may interfere with sexual function.

If you are in the menopausal state, you may be able to see you gynecologist to evaluate if you are a candidate for hormonal therapy.

Common issue: You have several options and I suggest: spend 20-30 minutes of, prolonged foreplay without intercourse, comminicate to your partner what feels "good", use a water based (aqueous) sexual lubricant, use external stimuli like music,aromatherapy, sensual massage or adult video. If these don't work, get   a GYN checkup.

Can be: This can be normal for some women. But it can also be a sign of low estrogen. And for a certain number of women that can signal early menopause. So best to get an evaluation to make sure that is not happening and then everything can be treated easily.

Vaginal estrogen: Talk to your doctor about some vaginal estrogen. This comes in the form of small tablets or cream that you insert into the vagina. This can increase the elasticity of the vagina and can make sex less painful. Be patient, it can take a few months.

Several things?: First of all, try one of the many lubricants available for just this purpose. Secondly, try different possitions in intercourse - even a slightly different angle or a pillow under one of your "butt cheeks" if you are on the bottom. Positions with you on top may give you greater control over pressures exerted. Gentle stretching may help; see your doctor if not for a referral to a sex therapist.
