Burning Pain: You need to find the cause for your pain.  It MAY be neuropathy, a form of never damage,  or something called RSD which is less likely.  Please see your doctor for diagnosis and helps. Peace and good health.

Why indeed: Whatever is causing the numbness &amp; tingling is also causing the painful sensation. The sense of touch is multimodality &amp; of mind-mangling complexity. When you say the areas are "more painful," do you mean allodynia, hyperpathia, dysesthesia or hyperalgesia? (The idea is now for you to look up those terms and try to determine which 1 (or more) applies to you.)

More evaluation: A burning sensation over one entire side of the body is unusual. Do you have any other symptoms- weakness, tingling, numbness, dizziness, headache, fever, etc.? I recommend an evaluation by your physician as no easy or obvious answer to your question occurs to me.

???: That is truly a head scratcher.  I must be honest and tell you that although I have heard people complain of one entire side of their body being swollen I have never found that to be the case objectively.  However, it doesn't mean you don't have that sensation.  I would see a local doctor before you keep taking more fluid pills which could certainly cause some problems.

Unlikely stroke: Instead, would bet that you suffer from classical migraine and you just experienced your first whopper of an aura.  However, contact your doctor and get examined, as I am not privy to your history, exam findings or other issues; and you may well need more extensive interventions and treatments.

Let Dr decide: Best clarify with your doctor numbness on one side is a concern but an examination would clarify if you need a ct.  The finger numbness alone  is likely a nerve compression at your elbow or wrist.  Your dr can eval this to see if any studies are needed.

Possible brain patho: Is it constant or intermittent. If tingling is indeed on whole left side including left face, left arm, left chest and left lower extremity without neck pain, it would indicate some pathology in right brain. See a neurologist.

Sometimes, pain begins as a result of an injury.  But, is important for you to talk to your physician.  The important thing is to find out the source of your pain, whether it is on the left or the right side of your body.
