is it normal to have inner thigh pain after an injection into iliopsoas bursa? thr a year ago. injection into groin/hip 3 weeks ago and this injection today. now my groin pain is back and it extends into the inner, upper thigh. normal?

Thigh pain ?'s: Any injection may irritate a specific nerve , causing local inflammation and pain.  Would need more information about the type of injection. Consider a second opinion from an orthopedic surgeon not associated with the physician providing your current treatment.

i  am having a lot of bad leg pain around the knee, upper thigh, and above my ankle on my driving leg, especially when i am driving. lasting weeks.

Lower extremity pain: First of all, we need to know if there is a history of trauma. If there is trauma, you need x-rays and possibly an MRI and blood tests. If there is not trauma and this happened spontaneously, there are a few conditions that have to be ruled out. Pain has to have a source. Do you suffer from low back problems? Are you active in sports? Do you have circulation issues? We need a better history.

Likely Hip arthritis: It is very possible that you are having arthritis in your hip joint with typical symptom of deep groin area pain, at times radiating down to the inside of knee area. Often stiff in am and pain can worsen with prolonged standing/walking.  Since you have had this for 4 months now, consult doc for eval. In the meantime, motrin/aleve may help the pain. Consult doc. Good luck.

I would be concerned: About a deep hip issue such as a landslide tear or femoral head issue such as arthritis or AVN. I would see and ortho doc and get a hip X-ray to rule out the bad stuff. If it is normal may need to look at tendons and nerve issues

Not necessarily : Groin pain could be primarily from the spinal problems, but also may be a core muscle imbalance due to compensation for the pain caused by the disc disease. A proper evaluation, and MRI can help figure that out. Physical therapy may also be helpful in that situation. Hope this helps!
