Testis pain: Most cases of pain in the testicle will resolve on their own.  I would see your primary care doctor to make sure you don't have an infection first.  A scrotal ultrasound may also be helpful.  I would advise that if your symptoms persist longer than three months, you should probably see an urologist.

Pain in groin: Have you ever been diagnosed with a hernia?
Is the pain away from the groin towards the abdomen?
Palpation induces pain and feeling of bubbles? does it hurt at the time you move the bowels?
Most possible you have  an intestinal loop, large diverticulum .
You require a GI and a general surgeon specialists, have a fluoroscopy with contrast follow through, have a colonoscopy?.

Possible hernia: Groin or inguinal hernias are pretty common in males( although can happen in women too)and appear most of the time as soft protrusion which is usually non or slightly tender. It would be good to get checked and confirm diagnosis. If the area gets hard, difficult to press down and very tender is time to visit the ed, otherwise if not that severe i encourage you to make an appointment with your pcp.

Compression neuritis: definitely suggests nerve compression and inflammation. Avoid any heavy lifting or bending. Start  antiinflammatory mediciation ASAP ( Advil (ibuprofen) or Aleve) - seek medical attention and xrays ASAP

Hernia: Consider possible femoral hernia, don't see typical inguinal hernias in women, but could be a hernia of the femoral triangle. Seek evaluation

Important get checke: That could certainly be a hernia but there are more troublesome possibilities so see your doctor soon to have it checked. Hernias can be repaired. Get it checked.

See a doctor but: it sounds like it could be an inguinal hernia. Other possibilities include abscess (infection), swollen lymph node, fungal infection, or varicocele/hydrocele. A physical exam could likely sort it out, and if it is a hernia that is causing pain or symptoms you may need surgery to fix it. Good luck!

Fatty tumor: Benign fatty tumor called lipoma  are common localized fatty accumulation, they are stable in size and shape for several yrs, it does not grow fast. if it grows in size have it checked out to rule out malignant lesions.

my husband has a grapefruit sized hard lump on the left groin area. it goes down when he lays for a while and back to grapefruit size when he is up.

Lunp: That needs to be looked at by your PCP so the appropriate referral can be put into place. Hard to know of it a mass, tumor, cyst, hernia etc.
