Monitoring Centers: Lymphatic system absorbs/carries things too big to go into the arteries/veins like bacteria eaten by white cells and digested food. Lymph nodes "taste" the lymph for anything bad  like bacteria/viruses/cancers, etc. When it detects a problem, it alerts the immune system and your body reacts.  They enlarge in response to the inflammation they create when they react.  They shrink when all is well.

See a doc: If one has new or persisting throbbing of the temples it is something that woudl be worthwhile to have some medical advice and evaliation on - could be heart racing, elevated blood pressure, stress/tension, medication effects, too much caffeine, or other things.  While some of these might not be serious - others could.  See a doc, good treatment comes from good examination and assessment.

Headache: The type and severity of headache will dictate the possible need for physician assessment.  Might consider giving this a day or two before seeing a doctor, although if you have any other symptoms, particularly alteration in level of consciousness or mentation would seek help immediately.

Sinus congestion: You need to be checked for allergies as these can cause you to have recurrent ear and sinus issues. Meanwhile, start taking a decongestant such as Pseudoephedrine and continue with the saline nasal spray.

Temple pain : It is a muscle pain in the temporal muscle which  could be due to TMJ and or stress.  Try Motrin 600 to 800 mg (4 of the 200 mg tablets available over the counter).  Try warm compresses 20 mins every hour and mouth guard for a football helmet.  It is 5 dollars at the sporting goods store.  Mold the guard on the upper teeth as prescribed and then cut the attachment part for the face mask.  Use pm.

Vague: The differential diagnosis for such a vague symptom is very long.  Talk to your doctor and they will help you out.

: Headaches of such short duration cant always be 3xplained and mostly always go away. Tension and blood vessel spasms are often the case. If it persists beyond a day or is severeor accompanied by any other symptom pl see your doc. In the meantime take Tylenol. Hope you feel better

No worry: Could well be pain generated from right jaw, a TMJ syndrome, but other dental issues could be present.  Alternative considerations, such as migraine might come into play, and thus, seek some attention from your pcp and regular dentist.

TMD?: This may be from a temporomandibular joint issue often caused by teeth-grinding at night.  Consult your dentist.  In the meanwhile, avoid chewing tough stuff.   NSAID and heating pad may help.

pain by my left jaw only on one side. the pain goes up jaw to my temple. this comes and goes. smetimes it doesn't happen for a month. what could it be?

TMJ: Possibly tmj. If you grind your teeth or chew a lot of gum, you can get TMJ inflammationa which radiates pain from the jaw, into the ear, and up to the temple. Treatment is nsaid's (ibuprofen, etc.) and rest. If symptoms persist, consult your doctor.
