Possibly.: Usually sludge in the gallbladder doesn't cause pain (gallstones can).  However, it may be that your gallbladder isn't functioning properly.  The best test to have done is a HIDA with cholecystokinin (a special nuclear medicine test that tells whether the gallbladder empties properly).  Your primary care doctor can order this, or your surgeon.  If positive, taking the gallbladder out can help.

i had my gallbladder removed nearly 2 years ago and i am getting the same pain on my right side after eating and drinking. same pain if water or red wine, or food. have hayfever and bitter taste in throat as well, thought gerd but right side pain?

Abd pain : If with a gall bladder out one can still have problems with the gall bladder "pipping" and valves. See your doctor

several possible: Causes.   Abdominal pain in the right side after meals could be caused by indigestion, gastritis, ulcers, liver diseases, inflammation of the pancreas, intestinal or colonic pathology, some cancers and several other less common problems.  If the pain is severe, very frequent or both you need medical attention to identify the cause and formulate a treatment plan.

i have stomach bloating after eating and on and off pain in my right side when i drink anything other than water.should i be considered?

: Your symptoms suggest that you may have gastritis or gall bladder disease.  I would consider that you  eat slowly, avoid talking cease you may be air swallowing.  My suggestion a start a food diary to see if the symptoms begin with that same type of food.
Your PCP could assist you.

Maybe (not) . . .: Gallbladder disease comes to mind based upon pain associated w/fatty foods although it's usually more right upper quadrant than breastbone. Acid reflux or heartburn is more likely given breastbone pain w/soda (assuming you're referring to area of discomfort, not actual bone pain). There's no need to eat fatty foods &amp; drink soda. If can't avoid, go see your Family Doc for evaluation &amp; treatment.

Consider RUQ anatomy: Anatomically, the right upper quadrant (RUQ) of the abdomen includes: liver, gallbladder, pancreatic head, bile ducts and ampulla, c-loop of the duodenum, stomach antrum and pylorus, the hepatic flexure of the colon.  Don't forget the diaphragm and lower chest are pretty close by. The abdominal musculature, ribs, and skin can all contribute as well to localizing RUQ pain.

Pain of right side: You may have irritation of the gall bladder with wall thickening, small stones etc. I would monitor symptoms and if they persist, have the tests run again and perhaps an Ultrasound of the Right upper quadrant should be checked.

It's possible the liver or gall bladder would be involved with right sided pain after eating. In any event, this requires physician evaluation to carefully sort through these multiple symptoms. If your lower abdomen hurts, that could be your skin, muscles, bladder, uterus, or intestines. If the upper part of your abdomen hurts, it could be acid reflux, pancreatitis, or other problems.
