Sleeping on your arm: Puts a great deal of pressure on your rotator cuff and drives the cuff up into your shoulder blade and collarbone. It is akin to someone clamping you thigh for eight hours it is going to hurt. Furthermore your ac joint also can become inflamed. Finally the nerves in you arm get stretched and irritated.  Try sleeping in a recliner, wear a shoulder immobilizer, or sleep with your back supported.

Bone pain: You must see an Orthopedic doctor. You will be examined, lab data will be obtained, and almost certainly several images will be taken.

Numbness = nerves: Numbness is mostly caused by nerve problems, and in this case it is typically coming from the neck. Both sides means stenosis(narrowing) instead of herniated disc. Have your neck checked by orthopedic or neuro surgery. May need MRI or ncs/emg. Don't ignore. Constant symptoms are worse and may indicate tumor or infection.

Strain: Sounds as if you have an overuse syndrome that is putting a strain on your shoulder/clavicular area.  See a health care provider after it happens and when you have the swelling, so the area can be properly diagnosed and then treated best,  good luck.

No and yes: Carpal tunnel syndrome is a compression syndrome at the wrist and can therefore not be caused by a lesion in the chest or neck.  But... There is a condition known as a " double crush syndrome" in which the nerve can be pressed somewhere else and make your carpal tunnel syndrome more symptomatic.
