Size and duration: Reactive lymph nodes are common after infections, they normally disappear after a few weeks. If a lymph node is larger than 2 cm, or if it does not go away or if it is increasing in size, you should be seen by a physician.

Sounds like TMJ: There are many symptoms related to the ear area that occur when the jaw joint (also known as the temporomandibular joint - TMJ for short) is out of position, inflammed, degenerated, or traumatized.  Often times the TMJ clicks, pops, or is tender when you put your finger into the ear canal and open and close your jaw.  Splints and specialist care should be considered before it gets worse.

No: These have no therapeutic benefit other than giving you something to do. Some of these are viral &amp; self heal in a few days.If it is bacterial it may self heal in 2-3 months or rupture and become chronically infected. Standard treatment of bacterial otitis involves antibiotics.

Fluid behind ears.: Fluid behind ears can takes a few weeks to completely clear after finishing a course of antibiotics.  The redness you describe may be from fever (check w/ thermometer), rubbing at ears.  Also could be a sign of a rash on the rest of the body.

Pseudo...: Fluid that builds up in cavities such as the sinuses or the middle ear can be treated over the counter with decongestant medications.  Pseudoephedrine is an active ingredient of many such decongestants, which is quite effective.  Speak to a pharmacist about which decongestant is the best for you.
