Needs evaluation: A vaginal tear needs to be evaluated by an obgyn to see if surgical repair is needed.  They also need to evaluate the cause. After menopause it may be due to hormone deficiency.

: After puberty the vaginal lining thickens as an effect of estrogen stimulation. That allows the tissue to build up a thickness/toughness that is more tolerant of the mechanical trauma of intercourse. If you are concerned this is too much have this discussion with your doc at a regular visit.

Bartholin's gland: A swelling near the entrance of the vagina can come from a "Bartholin's" cyst, whose duct that drains lubrication secretions has been clogged. If bacteria get inside the cyst, it can get inflamed and painful. At that point it may help to incise and drain the contents of the cyst. A gynecologic exam will reveal if what I suspect is the case.

A Bartholin's Cyst: It is very ikely that you have a barthoin's cyst--it is typically not an infection but can be caused by infection which blocks the gland/duct, thus collection of fluid (swelling) to cause the "bump." this can be size of a pea up size of an egg. Simple incision may do the job, but if infected, antibiotic is needed and cyst may need to be excised. Consult your doc. Good luck.

Several things: It could be a yeast infection, it could be bacterial vaginosis, but it could also be something like genital herpes.  Probably best to see your physician or gynecologist for evaluation and maybe to discuss birth control as well

"Entrance blocker": You may have a growth of undetermined origin blocking the entrance to the vagina. A GYN MD can examine the area and make a determination of what "it" is and how best to insert a tampon if possible.
