It depends on dose: They can range from no symptoms to death with in hours.  The classic three levels are hematopoetic, with alterations in wbc, platelets, and then anemia. Gi with extreme diarrhea and sepsis, and neurological which tends to be fatal.

The first: Issue would be potential source of exposure. There is natural background exposure, medical exposure and inadvertant exposure. Total bidy radiation causes symptoms depending on dose.  The most lethal is CNS syndrome -seizures, GI - massive emesis, diarrhea, then bone marrow, causing aplastic anemia.

Depends: "radiation" is not just one thing or one entity. I think it: may be time for you to have a complete endocrine evaluation (Pituitary /Ovarian function) in order to plan for possible FERTILITY issues!

Medical treatment: Typically, prolactin producing adenomas, or prolactinomas, can be effectively treated with a class of medications called Dopamine agonists, such as bromocriptine.  Your endocrinologist should be able to prescribe these medications, if appropriate.

are cts the only test to identify appendicitis? i've had dull, burning or gnawing pain around the appendix for about a week, with no other symptoms. after 3 cts in 2 years, i'm worried about the radiation. are there any good ct alternatives?

Labs and exam: It really depends, urine analysis and CRP, CBC differential may be helpful in the work up

No: Radiation is likely to make matters worse.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex.

had an xray of my foot and an hour later i got a nosebleed. no other symptoms. i'm scared that i got radiation sickness, but the dose was low. help!

Radiation sickness: It gets technical but there is no way you received enough radiation from an xray to give you radiation sickness. Likely the cause of the nose bleed is from dry mucosa. I would rub a little Neosporin into the nose with a cotton swab to keep it moist.
