See below: Gas and bloating should only occur with fibroids if they are very large and compressing the bowel. Similar to the experience you see when you are pregnant and the enlarged uterus causes those symptoms. They same would apply to ovarian cysts. They would need to be very large in order to cause that problem.

Bloating: A simple,benign ovarian cyst shouldn't cause abdominal bloating and constipation. These are not necessarily found with pcos either. Gas buildup can be due to gassy foods or beverages but also from lactose or gluten intolerance. Try to pinpoint whether any of these are factors in your case by a process of eliminating one class of foods at a time. Taking simethicone 1/2 hour after meals prevents gas

No: The stomach pain, cramping & gas can be related to constipation, but if you're really in pain, you should go to the er to make sure the current cyst didn't rupture. Did your gyn say you have polycystic ovarian syndrome?

Maybe: The cyst may be producing greater amounts of estrogen, but other things /causes need to be checked. Your profile says you are 62 years old - if that's the case then you need to see a doctor and have a sonogram &amp; biopsy (at a minimum). Inflammation: Ovarian cysts may cause the feeling of bloating.  This may be due to fluid leaking from the cysts and pelvic inflammation as a result of the cysts.  Inflammation will cause swelling and fluid accumulation. 
Should have a pelvic ultrasound to evaluate the size/quality of the cysts.

No: Your "bloating" most likely is due to retained gas inside the intra-abdominal cavity and not due to typical "gas pains".  This retained gas should be expected to get reabsorbed within the next 24-48 hours following surgery.

Yes, : Yes, this could be from the cyst.  Please consult your gynecologist immediately and clarify the plan.  You may need to have definitive treatment of this cyst.  It is very important that you be seen and have this re-assessed.
