Chicken Soup ; Other: No kidding--chicken soup has been proven effective for colds. As for otc medications they are usually no problem--however--be aware any mix of medications can have unexpected reactions. So follow label directions and be extra cautious to start.

Hard to say: Cough is not a common side effect of zoloft (sertraline). It has been reported but it is infrequent.  See doc and get checked for other causes first.  Then discuss with your doctor, if zoloft (sertraline) might be the cause, whether to see if it goes away after a month or two or whether you should stop it and try something else.

Some remedies: A mixture of chamomile tea with honey &amp; a small amount of lemon juice may help. Pour boiling water over thinly sliced organic ginger. Steep for at least five minutes in a covered pot. Add 2 to 3 tbs of honey &amp; sip.  Hydrate well with broth or water. These are just a few options. Take care.

Cough: Are you certain that the cough is related to the sertraline? It is listed as a possible side effect although incredibly rare and even more so that it started 4 weeks after treatment started.  I'd discuss with your doctor to rule out any other causes that might be the culprit. Hope that helps!

Sertraline: Please go to drugs.com and read reasons to take this dangerous drug to be certain you have good reason. Discuss with your Dr. Are you also taking an ACE.

Ok for short time: Yes you may take . You can also try simple Benadryl, (diphenhydramine) or Claritin for decongestant.
 Steam Unhalation and Ginger Tea will help you.
 Afrin Nasal Spray for less than 3 days as decongestant can be used

Probably phelgm: Mucous secretion due to that produced in the upper sinus passages and upper airway as well at that produced in the lower respiratory tree can drain into the back of the mouth and when tasted, can have a metallic taste pending the type of infection, some blood and if mixed with medications, food and other ingestants, give the metallic taste.  If this doesn't clear with "wellness" get checked out.
