Possible.: Very rare male having oral sex with a women. More likely for a women having oral sex with a male. However, herpes and hpv transmission are much more common! in any case, a woman should insist on a new male sexual partner wear a condom!

Unlikely: There is little data to support an opinion one way or the other, but  no definitive evidence to show this is a route of transmission of hiv.  Theoretically it could happen, but salivary enzymes inactivate hiv, so unless secretions containing virus reach behind the oral cavity to lymphatic tissues, including tonsils, it seems as if this would be hard to occur.  No such cases have been documented.

HIV and oral sex: HIV is rarely if ever transmitted mouth to penis; there are no proved cases. In any case, your test results are conclusive. Your "chances" are 100% that you did not catch HIV.

: HIV transmission by oral sex theoretically is possible but is very rare. There has never been a scientifically proved case of HIV transmitted mouth to penis, and only rare cases penis to mouth. And no cases have proved to be transmitted by cunnilingus (oral-vaginal contact). Probably you should get tested for reassurance, but you can expect a negative result. Sex with your wife is safe.

: HIV has never been proved to be transmitted mouth to penis; the risk was low. Still, with an HIV infected partner (if not taking HIV treatment) and possible blood exposure, PEP probably was a good idea. However, you started PEP quite late, i.e. reduced effectiveness compared with starting within 24 hr. Still, overall it is unlikely you will be infected. Follow up with your PEP doctor or clinic.

The problem is truly knowing who has hiv, since people can look and feel fine and and no idea that they are infected, yet have HIV and transmit it to others. This is why always using safer sex is critical.

ER Dr: The chance an HIV negative person will get HIV from oral sex with an HIV positive partner is low but factors such as sores in the mouth or vagina or penis may increase the risk. PEP means taking antiretroviral medicines after being potentially exposed to HIV &amp; should be used only in emergency situations &amp; must be started within 72 hours. Therefore please see an Emergency Room Dr immediately!
