Since you have so many options, you should spend some time exploring them with your provider. Low dose pills are popular and can protect you against cysts, cancer and of course , unwanted pregnancy and painful periods.

Birth control: Before you start birth control your doctor should meet with you to make sure you are an appropriate candidate with no medical conditions that exclude you from being able to take them. I think you are asking if it is ok to take previously described birth control pills for a short duration of time. If you were told you can take birth control then there is no safety issue only taking them for 1 month

See below: Fortunately, Levetiracetam is not metabolized through the liver, and is unlikely to interact with your ocp's.  So far, there is very little to suggest long-term chronic issues on your med, and so i find no reason to have concerns regarding your future.

Oral Contraceptives: All of them.  They don't have to have these effects on anyone.  I have women on almost every contraceptive you can name that love the one they are on and just as many who hated the exact one.  You need to visit with your family doctor or gynecologist and discuss the risks and benefits and decide which one is for you.  No one has time for side effects.

No remembering!: The majority of oral contraception failures are due to incorrect use.  You forget to take the pill.  You get sick and throw it up.  You take an herb or antibiotic that interferes with the pill's action, etc.   IUDs remove the human factor.  In addition, they are positioned in the uterus where they can have a dramatic effect without the side-effects a pill would have to get the same result.
