That should be a : Discussion you should have with your gyn because your gyn knows you and your medical hx, some of the pros are- birth control, often lighter periods, less days , less cramps, much less chance to get benign cysts and pills lower your risk of getting ovarian cancer, u can easily go on line and read about possible side effects that some women may get , many women do not have side effects.

No it is not dangero: No the answer is it is not dangerous at age 16 or over 16 as long as it has been prescribed by your doctor and yu are aware of the possible side effects and understand like any other meds and your parents are aware of it.

Yes it is: Birth control pills are ofter precribed to help regulate menstrual flow ;/or pain. Bcp contain a low dose of female hormones and are even used by some to mitigate symptoms of menopause. By ; large are very safe. Of course will be very useful in preventing pregnancy should you wish to lose your virginity.

You don't: It isn't possible unless you stop them for a few cycles to see. How long were your average cycles before taking the pill? Should be similar.

Nothing much: Usually nothing negative happens if you stop, but
1-you could get pregnant
2-your period may not come for a while
3-if you had cramps before the pill, they may return
4-if your periods were very heavy before the pill, they may become so again.

Grapefruit!: Grapefruit, or it's juice can interfere with a variety of medications. Best to check with your doctor and/or pharmacist for specific interaction with your particular type of contraceptive. In the meantime, I would use a back up method of birth control, for example condoms, spermicide, etc. Hope this helps!
