Seems to be: If the bruising only occurs during your cycle, then there seems to be a connection.  This is worth having your ob/gyn see you when the bruising is present so that they can document what is going on.  It might be a problem called purpura and should lead to further evaluation.

You need gyn evaluat: the heavier bleeding could be hormonal e.g.thyroid,bleeding disorder or something structurally abnormal in the uterus e.g.fibroids.you need a thorough gyn.exam.

The : The Mirena (levonorgestrel) should be replaced after 5 years. You should take a pregnancy test. Also depending on your age pre-menopuase may be a cause of your abnormal cycles. A more detailed history and physical are in order. Please see your doctor.
