No: Human Chorionic Gonadotropin is a protein.  Proteins are digested in the stomach and do not enter the blood stream when consumed orally.

Women are prone to a condition known as ovarian hyper stimulation syndrome, a potentially life-threatening disorder.

If u do the HCG: Diet u should have close monitoring by a doctor, drops are usually garbage in my opinion, i offer pts the HCG diet, but before they can do it , I do a h&p and certain blood tests to make sure they are candidates and we use subq injectable HCG and a 500 cal diet that we monitor closely.

Simeons' Diet?: Hcg diet, its "full of c**p" - to use a nonmedical phrase. It's based on using HCG (which doesn't work in the first place), but you can't get HCG expect by prescription and then it's only given by injection.  By law, the drops can't contain any hcg, so it's like adding expensive water to your meals. All the so-called HCG diets use a very low calorie intake to get you to lose weight, not due to hcg.

No: Homeopathic remedies are prepared in very minute quantities. Otc pregnancy tests are likely to give unreliable results detecting so-called "homeopathic hcg."  also, this form of HCG is not an approved homeopathic remedy and the fda withdrew it from the market in late 2011.  http://www.fda.gov/newsevents/newsroom/pressannouncements/ucm282334.htm.
