Nerve compression: My first concern would be a disk in your neck compressing nerve roots, specificantly c5-c6 but there are other things even carpal tunnel  or a strain of the biceps tendon in the shoulder.  Of course the shoulder and thumb could be completely unrelated. Check with a physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist.

the side of my wrist by thumb and that same side of my forearm are numb and tingly since i had my son 6mths ago. it's painful when touched. what is it?

i noticed a decrease feeling sensation, not numb, in the area below my thumb to halfway up my forearm. earlier i was carrying heavy grocery bags on this arm. can it still be from this hours later? what can i do to help?

Sounds like radial : neuropathy. Pressure or trauma can at shoulder (hanging your arm over chair) can put pressure on the radial nerve and lead to these symptoms. If the symptoms don't resolve in a week see your primary care physician

my left wrist along with my forearm, thumb, and hand have been numb for two weeks. i have lost control of my wrist and my strength in my hand what should i do ?

Neuropathy: Tough to exactly diagnose. If repetitive work or hobby might be Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. You would benefit from a work release, a splint and possible steroid injection or minor outpatient surgery. Only a medical visit will answer your question.

i went indoor sky diving and afterwards, the top of my shoulder, inside of my forearm and thumb (not the fingers) were numb and tingling. what's up?

Neuropathy: Sounds like you may have developed a mild peripheral neuropathy (likely temporary) as a result of pressure from the parachute gear on your brachial plexus (a network of nerves that supply the arm and hand). This is much like waking up with numb arm/fingers after sleeping "wrong." this has been reported with backpacks, although I have not seen reports of peripheral neuropathy after skydiving.

recently ive spent a lot of time on my phone on facetime etc and today (after a long facetime call last night) i have had numbness in my thumb and forearm. what could be causing this? is dvt a possibility from being immobile for 4 or 5 hours?

Cubital tunnel : DVT is caused by a clot in one of the deep veins of your extremities. They are much more common in the legs and are accompanied by discoloration, pain and swelling. More likely you have cubital tunnel syndrome, where the ulnar nerve gets compressed while traveling through the cubital tunnel in your elbow. This can happen when your arm is bent for long periods of time. Keep your arm straight.

i just hand an orif on my forearm(broke my radius n ulna) 3 weeks later my thumb n forefinger are numb with a tingling feeling. is it normal?
