Sensory distortion: Injections of medication at the dentist suppresses function of the nerves that provide sensation.  Sensation gets distorted, and weird feelings can develop.  The good effect is to suppress pain, but the bad effect is the suppression of normal sensation.  The tone of muscles and skin also is effected so that they can swell up and appear puffy.

Yes could be: Can feel like that ...Should get back to normal as the anesthesia wears off but if it stays after tje anedthesia is worn off..Get it checked.

i went to the dentist today and had 2 root canals done. i had no novocane. now my lip is going numb. i had this work done at 4:30. i'm now wondering if i should be concerned?

Are : Are these the lower teeth on the side, behind the canine? If you had no anesthesia, the nerves in the teeth were probably non-vital. Did the dentist give you antibiotics? Were you fine when you left the office?

You may be getting a severe sweling with pressure in the bone which is putting pressure on the nerve, causing the numbness. This is probably from an infection.

You need to see someone asap. Call his emergency number, or get yourself to an emergency room. They may not be able to treat the tooth but they can give you antibiotics if you did not get a prescription from your dentist. And see the dentist the first chance you have.

i had implants put in over 2  two weeks ago.  i had a a lot of novacane   i am still numb and have an awful burning on my lips.  i my dentist tells me this is normal.  the burning is unbearable.  he says he could last for many weeks.  i wonder if this is

Go Back ASAP: The pressure and toxins from the abscess are affecting the inferior alveolar nerve. That tooth needs to be opened and drained ASAP, insurance or no insurance. Emergencies cannot wait for ins approval, so get necessary treatment started now before the infection spreads or causes permanent damage.
