Varies: First off I am sorry to hear about the miscarriage. I know that is hard. The first period after a miscarriage is usually 4-6 weeks after and is not usually normal. A little lighter or heavier , earlier or later than normal. Things will get back to norml after a cycle or two.

Very common: Slight spotting in the first trimester is extremely common, and in a 33 (?) year old usually not to worry about. You should check with your OBG if the spotting becomes heavier, good wishes.

See your doctor.: Spotting for 2 weeks after a miscarriage may be normal, but, one can only tell by examination. Incomplete miscarriage and infection, among other things, must be ruled out.

Needs evaluation: I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. The spotting is likely a new period starting; did you have an ultrasound after the miscarriage? If not, you may need one to make sure all tissue was expelled by the uterus. This can also cause persistent spotting. Other things that can cause this are use of progesterone-only contraceptives. See your gyno if you haven't already for a check up.

Yes: It is not uncommon to have irregular menses for one or two cycles after an elective abortion or spontaneous abortion (miscarriage).  If you desire pregnancy be sure to take prenatal vitamins.  If not, be sure to use effective contraception consistently. Take Care!

Brown spotting: is probably a result of old menstrual blood mixed with vaginal and cervical mucous. If concerned about pregnancy, do a home pregnancy test.

Unlikely: if you are spotting and the timing is close to your expected period, then it is unlikely that you're pregnant. a pregnancy test would be the most helpful on the week of your expected period.if you were not expecting pregnancy, start birth control. If you do want pregnancy, take prenatal vitamins.
