Depends: Obviously women who are overweight may have a higher pulse.  In general though a mild increase in the pulse does happen in the 2nd trimester as your blood pressure tends to drop around 14 weeks.  However, if your increase pulse is causing your chest pain or shortness of breath, you need to alert your OB to rule out other issues.  Your pulse also varies throughout the day.

Heart rate: In pregnancy, the amount of blood pumped by the heart increases by 30 to 50%. As this increases, the heart rate at rest speeds up from a normal rate of about 70 beats per minute to 80 or 90 beats per minute.  If the baseline is higher, so will be the pregnant levels.  After movement or anything that is not pure rest, a heart rate of 100 is not unexpectedly high. See your doctor with your concerns.

May be physiologic: Since a  large left atrium is suspect have  your  physician have you see  a cardiologist. WE call this a tachycardia  but it  may be  normal depending on you physical status. Your  evaluation will clarify the situation.

If you have symptoms of fatigue and dizziness along with a low heart rate, further evaluation may be needed.
