BV: Maybe bacterial vaginosis.  This is often associated with an odor, but not necessarily.  It can cause burning, itching and pain during and after sex.  There is a product you can purchase made by vagisil that you can actually test for this at home.

Vaginal pruritis: Either your wife has a vaginal infection such as candida (look for creamy discharge and redness of the exterior structures)  or she is allergic to your sperm or gels you might be using for assist. She could first try an otc anti-fungal cream, and if that does not get rid of the condition she needs a gynecologic examination.

Get tested: This could be normal vaginal mucus or it could be a sign of a yeast infection, bacterial vaginosis, STD or even cancer. Please see your family doctor or OB/GYN and get examined. At the least go to Planned Parenthood or another facility around you that does cheap or free STD testing and make sure you are clean.

Please see doctor: You need to have a pelvic exam and that discharge needs to be swabbed to make sure you don't have a sexually transmitted disease.

Infection? STD?: Color to vaginal discharge (yellow, tan, creamy, etc) often means infection, especially with STDs (chlamydia, gonorrhea, trichomonas), which are most common at your age (late teens, early 20s). Definitely see your doctor, especailly if at risk for STDs, for example if your relationship is new or either of you has had other partners in the past 6 months or so. Good luck!

Bacteria vaginosis: The symptoms you describe sound like a vaginal infection called bacteria vaginosis. It is not a sexually transmitted disease.  I recommend you be seen by a physician and have this evaluated.

Discharge: I understand that you may have had self induced sexual activity if you report no sex. There may be infection if the device you used was contaminated. Also, injury to the vagina and cervix and even deeper tissues may result in vaginal discharge. I would not delay being seen by physician at this point.

Both: Vaginal discharge can be due to infections (such as sexually transmitted infections), but can also be physiologic discharge.
