HPV: This is not know to occur.  Some strains produce changes on mucosal surfaces that may eventuate in cancer, but gastrointestinal symptoms are not a known result of HPV infection.

Accepted Answer

Reliability unknown: It's hard to know the reliability; such tests have not been systematically studied nor submitted to the FDA for certification. Most likely a positive result is true, but you could have additional types in addition to the one(s) found in your urine. And you could have HPV of your genital skin that doesn't show up in urine.

Unrelated: She sounds like she has a bladder infection.  Hoc will not cause her menses to stop.  If she had a surgery( not just office biopsies), that could be related to stenosis of the cervix not allowing blood out.  Probably needs a pregnancy test and a treatment for a uti.

Trauma, infection: Or hormones. Intermittent catheterization or indwelling catheters can induce squamous metaplasia, hpv, which is a std as well as other STDs can cause it. Estrogen pretreated men undergoing gender change have urethral metaplasia. Can be associated with bladder and urethral cancers. Sometimes harmless and of no known cause.

Needs to be checked: She is pregnant and probabely has urinary tract infection, hpv is not causing her symptoms
she needs to be checked and her urine tested and treated with appropriate antibiotics.

Period variation: It is normal for cycles to vary some what from month to month especially in your 40’s. If you are unsatisfied with your level of menstrual cycle control there are many options for cycle regulation and treatment. Endometrial ablations are a popular option to reduce or eliminate the cycle

HPV testing in men: There is no reliable or recommended HPV test for males, with a few specific exceptions. In men who have had receptive anal sex with men, HPV testing can help judge anal cancer risk. For genital testing, researchers don't even agree on how to collect specimens or exactly where (urethra? head? shaft? scrotum? swab? sand paper?). Urine testing probably misses most infections. Don't waste your money.

Generally no.: Hpv generally infects the cells of the skin / mucus membranes of the anogenital region (cervix, vagina, vulva, perianal skin, anus, penis, scrotum).  Hpv does not typically infect the kidneys, ureters or bladder (where urine is).  In most instances, there is no correlation between hpv status and having increased white blood cells (leukocytes) in the urine.

Urethritis: Viruses like herpes and hpv can cause urethritis. Your symptoms are consistent with a bladder, prostate, or urethral infection and I recommend that you consult a urologist for diagnosis and advice. Bacterial infections are treatable but sometimes it's worthwhile treating nonbacterial urethritis or prostatitis with a trial of antibiotics.
