i have a 2 month old baby and when i stand him up on my lap only one leg shakes really bad ? is this something i should be worried about ?

Too Soon: Nope. This just is a physical sign to tell you that your baby's leg muscles are in no way ready to bear weight.

Sounds normal: In early infancy a baby has little control of their limbs. They can control head movement side to side & sucking & head lift, but there are many random reflexive movements early on in their limbs. By 4 months most can grasp & let go with hands but leg control will come later. This is not a seizure and not a sign of other bad stuff.Enjoy your baby & get ready for more confusing events to come.

Depends: Do you live on a fault as in san francisco? If you do, then try sitting backwards and see if then the other leg shakes more. Otherwise, it's probably nothing but if it seems to worsen or become more obvious, talk to you doctor.

Not clear: Only the right leg? How are your reflexes in that leg? Any other symptoms? I would see your doctor to rule out hyper-reflexia or clonus which may relate to spinal concerns. Please see your doctor for an evaluation and further management.

Get examined: and tested. This may be a normal variation; however, I would suggest an exam. metabolic and thyroid testing and evaluation for stress and anxiety, if relevant .

Position and balance: It could be due to your sense of foot position and balance.   This is a sensation that is picked up by a special nerve called a "proprioceptor"  this could be from neurological or musculoskeletal origin.  Such a thing could also be due to tight muscle groups in the leg.  If this seems to be getting worse or is causing you pain, you should have this evaluated by a physician.

Depends: Tremors can develop later in life and usually have a rythym or speed you can measure and discuss with your doctor.  Mild tremors occur in weakness and pain, and usually get worse (temporarily) with fatigue.  Your "shakes" sound like a tremor, not clonus.

Ankle clonus: If you have no weakness in the leg, this is likely a normal finding due to increased muscle tone in someone your age.
