i have a new mole on the sole of my foot grown 3mm in 2months. it is dark brown, possibly black in places with parallel ridge pattern. is it a concern?

some time ago, a new mole formed on my hand and it's grown a bit over time. it seemed like it has stopped growing since i haven't noticed any new changes in the mole, would it still be considered dangerous?

: Always consider a growing mole dangerous esp if black or brown. But most likely not.  Have a Dr. look at it and decide what needs to be done if anything.    Check family history. Go to uptodate.com and read more then discuss with a Dr.

peeled off a very new mole from my finger using nailclippers...
it didnt bleed as i peeled the epidermis. the entire mole is gone and hasnt grown back. its been 2 weeks. scared that this could be melanoma..........

i have a new mole that is above my eyelid, that is darker then when i first noticed it about a week ago. do i have to see a dermatologist? or an eye doctor? also, the mole is super small, and hasnt grown just seems darker.

Dermatologist: For peace of mind consult a dermatologist for evaluation of these many skin lesions. Generally speaking it's important to have a dermatologist check skin lesions which stand out from others or change in size or color.

Maybe: Any new moles that look asymmetrical, have uneven borders, multiple colors, or just look different than other moles should be investigated. As a general rule, any suspicious skin lesion should be seen by a doctor. And followed yearly unless it is a benign lesion.

If worried, see Dr.: New moles appear on people's skin as they age. Even children get new moles. Some moles are worrisome, and a dermatologist can look for, examine, and/or biopsy such moles. Concerning signs are: assymetry (one half of the mole growing faster than the other half), border irregular, more than 1 color in the mole, diameter more than 6mm, and the mole is elevated above the surrounding skin.

See dermatologist: There are 4 reasons to remove a skin mole. 1) the possibility of cancerous change occurring in a mole sometime in the future (a pre-cancerous active junctional mole); 2) a suspected cancerous change in an existing or new mole, where removal is diagnostic and therapeutic; 3) cosmetic reasons; 4) functional and anatomical changes occurring in a mole.  See a dermatologist for assurance

Get it checked: You may or may not have a problem but any mole or pigmented lesion that is changing should be look at by your pcp or a dermatologist and evaluated on short order.  As a lay person, you are not in a position to know the warning signs or symptoms or could mistake abnormal for normal.  Do not chance it!  get it looked at and make sure. Sometimes things belong in a jar and not on your body!  best 2 u!
