Maybe viral...: I don't know what that constellation of symptoms is... could be something like a viral infection or could be more serious.  Recommend going to get evaluated.

Nothing now: Time usually will allow to heal by itself.  If there is no penetrating injury, then the nerve will repair by itself at a rate of 0.5 mm per day.

Yes and yes: Absolutely.  Even a surgeon can continue to operate.  Only super delicate microsurgery could be an issue for the surgeon but even then as a tech you should be ok.  Go for it...your body will adjust to the new needs

Probably not: What you have sounds like what is called an intention tremor.  This occurs in many people without diabetes as well as diabetics.  It is usually something that is difficult to treat but does not mean anything serious is wrong.  The only way to tell is have a full examination with a neurologist.

For sometime : Your arm movement will be limited for sometime ,brachial plexus injury takes a year or two to resolve ,but you should be persistent with physical therapy

OT, nutrition, time: Try to get a prescription for occupational therapy called hand therapy.  Also good nutrition is key - lots of veggies, fruits, eliminate refined (proinflammatory) foods (sugar, wheat, artificial anything).  Add some probiotics for good absorption of nutrients.  Try r-lipoic acid 100 mg 2x/ day, coq10 200 mg/ day. Tincture of time. Some topical capsaicin might help. Careful - it's from hot pepper!

Depends on severity: Any nerve in the hand can be damaged, but i presume you refer to the median nerve, which is often pinched in the wrist (carpal tunnel). If decompressed in time, full recovery is possible. If the nerve has been severely entrapped, with loss 90% or more of nerve function, then the loss can be irreversible. Persistent pain, numbness/tingling, & weakness in the pattern of the involved nerve results.
