See below: Ascus means cells present that are slightly atypical and there are many casues for them  if the hpv is negative the current obgyn literature suggests you just need an annual pap smear as a followup on the ascus.

Maybe: HPV is a family of viruses well known for their ability to go into hibernation for decades and reappear in nearby tissue. Having a worrisome area removed by freezing may get it all, but you will still need to follow through with checkups. Cervical cancer is associated with HPV but occasionally arises with HPV negative persons. It is great you removed a worrisome area &amp; you may never have another.

Technique/lab issues: There are many variables when obtaining a specimen, transporting it  and preparing it in the lab for review.Because of the importance of quality in the examination and interpretation of these studies, the material must be of acceptable quality or no results are reported. There is likely one or more errors in the pathway from scraping the cells to the report.

No: No you don&#x27;t.but go check with doctor for abnormal cells, Most of the time, minor changes go back to normal on their own. But more serious changes can turn into cancer if they are not removed. The more serious changes are often called “precancer” because they are not yet cancer, but they can turn into cancer over time. It is important to make sure these changes do not get worse.

It : It is quite common to have a fainting episode after the shot. All studies show that the shots are otherwise very safe and are protective for the virus that can cause cervical cancer. Talk to your health provider.

Couple of ways...: Possible for an hpv test to be positive in a patient with a later test being negative.  A couple of explanations:
1.  Variability in sampling:  if the first test collected cells from a warty / infected area and the second test did not sample the warty area, the tests could both be "correct".
Tests are only as good as samples.
2.  Patient's immune response may have also have cleared the infection.

What test ?: Was this a serum antibody test or something else ? The only form of genital HPV occasionally passed to babies is genital warts, caused by several strains of HPV. Passage is most common if warts are present at delivery. Other forms of genital HPV are not known to pass to newborns.
