The sensations of redness and warmth to the touch suggest dilation of blood vessels...it almost sounds like a type of "hot flash."  How old are you? Sometimes menopausal hot flashes are perceived in a localized part of the body vs generalized over the entire body. Review with your doctor to decide on tests

Rash: The differential diagnosis of rashes is very large. A physician typically needs to see your rash in person and get a history to make a diagnosis.
Bactrim can cause a serious rash so call your treating MD immediately for instructions. I noticed you have a skin abscess and a mild fever, but it is unclear how long you have had the abscess or where the abscess is. See MD to ensure improvement.

Autonomic nervous sy: Anxiety, anger and fear often can cause a response from our autonomic nervous system unleashing hormones, neurotransmitters which have body responses like flushing of the skin, sweating, increased heart rate, etc. It would be desirable to see therapist who understands the mind/body connection and could use cbt to help to deal with the underlying precipitants to the nervousness.

Some thoughts: cannot say in your particular case, but generally, infection and / or inflammation would be causes of warmth. THis can be due to a skin infection, collar rubbing, reaction to something on neck (detergent, jewelry). It can also be a reaction by the local nerves but this is not at all common.

Actually, acne vulgaris, is a form of folliculitis.

Difficult: Hard to answer without more details and seeing the area....In general dry and or sensitive skin can cause red patches on the neck. When the occur, see a dermatologist for evaluation and in the meantime you may try a Hydrocortisone cream.

: If this cluster was itchy,I'd think of a contact dermatitis from something that came in contact with your skin. If it was blistery,I'd suspect a herpes virus skin infection which can be treated.  . I recommend consulting your physician or dermatologist for evaluation and advice.
