Pelvic pain: Pelvic pain is complex as there are several organs in the pelvis. The ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus, cervix, bladder, appendix, intestines, colon and rectum can all be the source. Pelvic pain requires and examination to help organize the evaluation.

Sonogram : A swollen ovary is not an official medical term. The next step is a pelvic exam and a pelvic sonogram to determine if something is wrong with your ovary. After a diagnosis is made a treatment plan can be created. Our office is near you we would be happy to help.

Probably: The size of your ovaries does not have any bearing on your ability to conceive. What matters most is whether or not your ovaries are releasing eggs (ovulation) and this can be determined by your having regular periods.

RLQ pain: Pain in the described area could be from the bone, muscles, ovary, urinary bladder, appendix etc. Needs more detailed history and exam to narrow down the cause

Not sure: What you mean by swollen ovaries. If they are just somewhat large, it could be polycystic ovarian syndrome. Want to make sure there aren't tumors causing the enlargement.

It depends: Generally a cyst in a woman of your age less than 5 cm in size, if it is totally water containing is of no concern. However, if there are solid elements, blood in the wall or if it is associated with pain or loss of blood flow it could be serious. Therefore the ultrasound report neds to be given to your healthcare provider   to determine the significance and precise meaning of the word swelling.

i have pain wen having sex.its not extreme but unpleasent is it normal? also ovaries(i think) hurt even wen not having sex n feels swollen around area

Not normal: It is normal to have some pain once in a while but not routinely. It may be a sign of a gyn issue (cyst, fibroids, endometriosis), or a bladder issue (interstitial cystitis), or something else completely. Would recommend seeing an obgyn first.

Monitor situation: Hello 
Is this problem getting worse? Is there discharge of any particular color.  I would recommend you visit your physician if this problem continues since it would require a full pelvic examination with a pap smear to better determine the cause.  I would also recommend protection (condoms) in any future sexual encounters unless you are trying to get pregnant.

Get re-examined: No, don't wait! If you are having groin swelling, and discomfort it is important to get re-examined as the inguinal area(groin) is a "hot spot" for swollen lymph nodes from the pelvis.

Sonogram : The next step would be a sonogram. If a pelvic exam is inconclusive this is a simple easy way to determine if all is normal.
