i have a lump on the inside of my arm near the elbow. it is about an inch in diameter and is not sore. i work regularly with weights and wonder if that could be the problem. it has been there about three weeks and has not gotten any larger.

Possible cyst: A lump needs to be seen by a physician before a diagnosis can be made. It's quite possible that you have a benign lesion like a cyst,but you'll have to go to a physician for evaluation.

Be seen: A lump on your elbow could've been triggered by many possible reasons, including trauma, fluid in and around the fat pad due to inflammation, tendon year, etc. As a diabetic, complications may arise. See your doctor please.

Epitrochlear node: You are describing an epitrochlear lymph node. This can be related to a distal infection in the forearm or the hand. If so, it may be tender. Usually the place of it is to the inside of the arm above elbow. Of course there are other possible causes of lymph nodes enlargement. If not better in a few days you may need to get it checked. A biopsy can be done if no better or worse with no good reason

Return visit: While the lump may be unrelated, it can also represent a lymph node or in-transit metastasis or a local recurrence of your melanoma.  Clearly, these options are deserving of an immediate evaluation by your dermatologist and/or surgical oncologist. The lump should be biopsied.

Elbow: The part of the elbow you are describing is the olecranon. There is a bursa in the area and it is where the triceps muscle tendons insert. Causes for swelling would be bursa, tendon or cyst on the tendon or a skin fibroadenoma.

Probably: an infected lymph node in the axilla, lymphadentis, you need to see your doctor for assessment, or a surgeon, you may very well need antibiotics, meanwhile, use some warm compresses, rest and pain killers till seen, all the best

Elbow pain: There exist multiple causes of elbow pain. Most common ones are tennis and golfer's elbows. The pain is located over the bony prominences on both sides of the elbow. The pain is worse when making a fist. Shooting pain sometimes with numbness/tingling from the elbow to the hand may be related to a nerve problem, usually with the ulnar nerve (the funny bone). Further history and physical exam needed.

Yes: It is possible.  A vascular ulstrasound is diagnostic.

Lump: This action stretches your flexor tendons and that may be what you a feeling.  Other possibilities include a cyst on the tendons or perhaps the synovial sac swelling.  If this get enlarged get checked.
