What are you taking?: All different medications have different side effects. I would have to know what medications you were on to check there side effects. The medication should have a list of possible side effects. If they do not you can call the doctor that prescribed them to you and they can tell you.

Several: Chronic cracked lips can become susceptible to all kinds of invasions from bacteria, viruses, fungus, and parasites. Chapped lips are open wounds that will allow anything to enter into your body. A simple timely application of moisturizer will prevent a host of problems. Continuous long term irritation will cause a high cell turn over rate which may lead to potential growth activities.

See below: I'm not an OB/GYN but as one woman to another, here are some guidelines in general, anything that you feel safe to swallow in your mouth, you can use on your vagina.  I'm talking about natural and not with any chemical or artificial lubracant, e.g. coconut oil, olive oil just to soothe the dryness as needed. And please use your common sense.  I hope this helps.

Keep them moist: Hydrate from the inside with more fluids (water, tea, coffee, etc).  Keep them protected from the elements with a lip balm.  Try not to lick them throughout the day either.

Lip balm: Dry cracking lips occur more commonly in cold, dry weather. Over the counter lip balms usually work quite well.

Water: Make sure you are drinking plenty of water. Dry chapped lips are a sign that you need more water. You can also apply coconut oil to your lips as a moisturizer. Good luck.

Too much water: Consumption of large amounts of water will  NOT "hydrate" your lips. Mouth breathing, talking, and frequent drinking may cause dry- feeling lips. Try to avoid licking your lips. Try using frequent Aquaphor or vaseline.

Hydration: Be sure you are adequately hydrated. Your urine should be clear to light transparent yellow. If not, you are likely dehydrated. Try A and D ointment - vitamins A and D. If not helping, get appt. with Dermatologist - you may need more involved treatment. Keep trying . Good Luck. Also, check side effects of your meds.
