Lotion!: Use a good thick lotion (one of my favorites is kerasal, but there are many other good brands, too). Apply twice daily, and wear closed-heel shoes (no flip flops or sandals). If twice daily lotion and closed shoes for one month does not improve things, see a podiatrist.

Moisturize the crack: The heel pain may be related to the fissure or may not be and this has to be figured out.

: You may have a plantar fibroma or a plantar wart. Both can be very painful. For diagnosis and best care&amp; follow-up, I recommend consulting a podiatrist.

Not likely: if it's just bruised, it will take a day or two to resolve. If you still can not bear weight after 3 to 4 days, or the leg is deformed or clicking,  then see an orthopedist.

Tricky: but it sounds like more than the usual minor tendon sprain; in which case evaluation by an Orthopedic doctor is going to be important.

Skin Fissures: When dry skin cracks, it causes a tremendous amount of pain. Hands and feet are the most likely places for skin fissures to appear. Though cracking can occur anytime of the year, it is especially common during the dry winter months and in the summer when open shoes are worn. Use super glue to close skin fissures and reduce the amount of pain.
