Anal Fissure: This is not cancer and is very unlikely given your age. It sounds like the common condition of anal fissure.  I would get in to the family clinic to be examined soon.

Possible ??: At 96 one would need to have a symptom to be checked for colon cancer, because of the likelihood of other medical conditions that are associated with advanced age. It is unusual to do screening in a person of this age. If he is unusually fit some doctors would consider it. On the other hand, if he has not been tested and is 96, he may not agree to look now.

i had 3 colonoscopies. 1st 14 polyps. 2nd 6 polyps. 3rd down to 2 polyps. im 50 years old. my grandfather passed away from colon cancer at age 69, he never had a colonoscopy. can this be lynch syndrome? do i need to get tested?

: What was the type of polyps and in what time frame? Based on your dad's age when he died, he less likely had colon cancer before age 50 so it does not fit with Lynch syndrome. Good luck.

: Lynch syndrome is an inherited disorder which causes colon and other GI cancers in males. This does not mean you have it. Pl get a genetic (chromosomal) test thru your doc. Good luck

Discuss with doctor: You should discuss these findings with your doctor.  You could reopen the cervix to drain the fluid, but, given the paucity of symptoms, that may not be necessary.

Gastroenterologist: I would immediately consult with a gastroenterologist or colorectal surgeon. You may need simple blood tests and perhaps a colonoscopy to determine what is going on along the internal lining of your entire colon before determining whether or not you have an actual lesion. Other imaging studies may be performed as well.

Stool change: At age 40 the possibility of hereditary polyposis leading to colon cancer is rare if you don't have any disease as of now.  Most colon malignancies are environmentally induced probably arising from the polyoma virus infecting the bowel mucosa. The other cause is related to long standing inflammatory  bowel disease.  You should have an initial colonoscopy to evaluate your bowel.

Not always: Colon cancer tends to not have any signs or symptoms when it is early (when it is easiest to treat). That is why screening colonoscopies are so important, to remove any polyps that may become cancer, and to directly look for cancers. Colon cancer can cause bleeding from the rectum, tiredness from anemia, stool changes, or abdominal pain. Other things can cause this too. Best to be seen if ?S.
